tis' almost the end of dadagiri........

The news is out!!

As expected Maharaja finds no place in the Indian side... It seems Yuvraj is a better player than him(no comments on that) and Jaffer takes his place (how??? - dont know)

I did mention in my earlier post that Ganguly is commiting a huge blunder by resorting to gimmicks to make a comeback when he is wanted by none. Alas!! The (in all probability) last opportunity didnt bear any fruits. Not that it was considered at all in the first place!!!!

A sad exit for the erstwhile Prince of Kolkatta :(

Is it a lesson to learn for the Little Master? -- only time will tell.........

Moral of the story: (for Sachin and all the other senior folks) You choose your exit time from the team; dont wait for others to do it for you!!

people of Bengal address him as Maharaja .. even his peers in Bengal Cricket do tht!!

Hey, sunil gavaskar actually did that. He retired when he was in very good form. In his defence he had said that he better retire when the public likes him instead of being thrown when out of form.

right said pratik-
kapil had committed the same mistake but i think sachin is sane enough not to..

U know Zaki I think there may be a logical explaination to Ganguly's exclusion and Jaffer's inclusion.
Now remember we were playing with only 1 specialist opener in the 2nd test. Now to get the other opener , who do u drop.
First of there are 4 slots in the middle order.Sachin,Dravid, Laxman[this being a test match] automatically get thru. Now the decision to be made was Yuvi or Dada. The selectors went for Yuvraj, seeing the future. Maybe Dada should hav followed Gavaskar's philosphy on retirement "Let the people ask WHY? and not WHY NOT!!" more closely .

Oops so Pratik's had already used the Gavaskar comparison. :-(

@aditya - my comparison wasnt between jaffer and ganguly.. to begin with, as u pointed out dada doesnt fit in the scheme of things. i didnt want to touch the topic of jaffer being given one more chance when he's already got and wasted many.. & the much talked about west-zone effect .. u knw it rite?
